LETTER-WRITING COMPETITION – 2015

In celebration of World Post Day on Friday 9 October 2015, the Royal Gibraltar Post Office (RGPO) launches the 2015/2016 Letter-Writing Competiton on behalf of the United Nations’ (UN) Universal Postal Union (UPU).
The competition is open to pupils attending School in GIBRALTAR and aged up to 15 years (inclusive) at the time of writing the letter.
The theme for 2015/2016 is…… “Write a letter to your 45-year-old self”.

The Hon Neil Costa, Minister for Postal Services, said: “I was very impressed with the local standard displayed during this competition last year. This is a competition in which Gibraltar can aspire to do well at international level and I urge our budding authors to set their imaginations alight. There are certainly some very worthwhile local prizes on offer and the chance to represent Gibraltar in Berne should not be missed”.

Local prizes will be awarded as follows:
1
st Prize………….Trophy & £300.
2
nd Prize………….Certificate & £200
3
rd Prize………….Certificate & £100

The winner will represent Gibraltar at international level in the UN UPU’s main competition for 2015/2016. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the international winners; the gold medal being presented at UN UPU Headquarters in BERNE, Switzerland, during October 2016.
The winner (and parents) is/are invited to attend with all expenses paid.

Copies of the Rules and Entry Forms will also shortly be made available via Schools. Returns must also be made via the Schools as the UN’s UPU International Bureau cannot entertain direct
